The UDP Multicast Streams window shows statistics for all UDP multicast streams. It includes source addresses and ports, destination addresses and ports, packets counter and other data. You can specify the burst interval, the alarm limits and output speeds. To apply new settings, press .
With these statistics you can:
Burst measurement interval and Burst alarm threshold
settings are used by the sliding window algorithm to compute how many times the threshold was hit,
and is shown in Burst Alarms. The threshold may be hit several times during a same window.
Stream empty speed and Buffer alarm threshold settings are used by the Leaky bucket algorithm to
compute how many times the buffer was filled while a client was at the same time emptying it at a given,
constant speed. When filled, the maximum seen is stored in Max Buffer and Buffer Alarms is incremented
(note that it won’t be incremented again until the buffer value first goes below the threshold, hence a
high value of alarms when the chosen threshold is near the minimum necessary one). The Total empty speed
plays the same role when considering all the flows added.

While this dialog helps diagnosing bursts of traffic, or inappropriate small buffers, it doesn’t bring information on traffic drops or buffer starvations. You can use the Section 8.8, “The “I/O Graphs” Window” to seek such behaviors. |
